Rosalba became involved in the art of Middle Eastern dance in 2001 after watching a live performance by Jillina. She fell in love with that beautiful dance form and immediately began training with internationally renowned instructors like Angelika Nemeth, Tamra-Henna, and Meera. She entered the world of Middle Eastern dance with a background in Flamenco, Afro- Cuban, Brazilian, and modern dance.
Rosalba holds a dance degree from UCLA’s World Arts and Cultures Department and a secondary dance teaching credential.
In order to expand her knowledge of Middle Eastern dance, Rosalba made her first trip to Egypt in 2007 and became highly inspired by dancers like Dina, Soraya, and Randa Kamal. After working with various companies around Los Angeles she decided to launch her solo professional career in 2007. As a highly disciplined and creative dancer with a charismatic personality, she quickly became in high demand. In 2009, she created the Zahira Dance Company.
Rosalba’s performing talent has taken her to Egypt, Canada, and around the United States. In 2010 she was selected among many world applicants to train under the direction of Yasmina Ramzy and the Arabesque Dance Academy in Canada. She was also selected to be a contestant on “America’s Top Bellydancer” a project by the Cheeky Girls Production Company.
Rosalba is highly requested because of her ability to truly understand the essence of the dance and present it in a high quality and artistic form for any audience. Her dancing is constantly complemented by studying other dances like Bollywood, classical ballet, Samba and anything that involves movement. In addition, she is highly appreciated as a teacher and known for her ability to break down technique and teach innovative choreography. Rosalba was recently requested to dance for the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Chicago Bulls, UGG Australia, Bikram, Moein, and was featured on David Tutera’s “My Fair Wedding” on Wetv.
