Rosalba is a professional belly dancer currently residing in Los Angeles. She became involved in the art of Middle Eastern dance in 2001 after watching a live performance by Jillina. Rosalba fell in love with such beautiful dance form and immediately began training with internationally renowned instructors such as Angelika Nemeth, Tamra-Henna, and Meera. Rosalba holds a dance minor from UCLA's World Arts and Cultures Department and a secondary dance teaching credential. She entered the world of Middle Eastern dance with a background in ballet, jazz and Brazilian dance. Since becoming a full time professional belly dancer she has taken the initiative to learn other Middle Eastern dance forms such as Persian Dance, Armenian, Lebanese, Gypsy, and Indian Bollywood.
Rosalba danced professionally with Layla and the Lotus Dancers from 2006-2007 and Bohemia Dance Company from 2007-2008. She launched her solo professional career in 2008 and joined a selective group of talented dancers to form the Zahira Dancers. In 2007 Rosalba made her first trip to Egypt in search of a better understanding of this dance form. While in Egypt, she trained with top dancers such as Dina, Dandash, Randa Kamal, and Raqia Hassan.
In addition to having performed at hundreds of private events in Los Angeles, Rosalba has performed at various restaurants like Caspian, Byblos, Golden Nights, Mandaloun, Sabor Cubano Fusion Restaurant, Sha Abbas, Shiraz, Darband, Time Out Café, Mediterranean Express, and Feiruz . She has been featured in music videos for Persian Singer Mansour, danced at a live concert with Moein, was invited to perform at Bikram's birthday party and recently danced for the Dodgers in Los Angeles. Rosalba and the Zahira Dancers are often requested for weddings, corporate events, concerts and private parties. |
